01
Sit down as comfortably and relaxed as possible.
02
Consciously let your shoulders drop down.
03
Relax your jaw muscles and release the tension in your face.
04
Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale calmly through your mouth.
Why this feels so good
Stress tightens the body. When you consciously exhale and loosen your muscles, your body receives the signal: 'We are safe.' This releases oxytocin, the bonding and breastfeeding hormone, allowing your milk to flow gently. And best of all: your relaxation transfers directly to your baby.

01
Don't forget to drink water
Breastfeeding releases oxytocin, which instantly triggers strong thirst. Take a big sip of water from your bottle right now. Your body is doing amazing work!
02
Have a small snack
Breastfeeding burns around 500 kcal every day. Grab a nutritious snack from your bag.
03
Take a one-minute mental break
Close your eyes for one minute. No shopping stress, no to-do list in your head. Just breathe deeply and be present with yourself for a moment.

How long should I breastfeed my baby?
According to current scientific guidelines, it is recommended to breastfeed exclusively for the first 6 months and to continue breastfeeding after introducing solid foods. But the most important thing is: it is entirely your personal decision. You continue breastfeeding for as long as you and your baby want to – whether for a few weeks, several months, or beyond the first year of life. Every drop of breast milk is good for your baby, and you determine your path without any pressure.
Solids complement, not replace, breastfeeding
Don’t feel pressured to replace breastfeeding sessions according to a rigid schedule. Throughout the first year, breast milk remains the most important source of nutrients. Complementary feeding is meant to complement breastfeeding, not replace it straight away.
The 3 key signs your baby is ready for solids:
Your baby can sit upright with minimal support, for example on your lap..
The tongue-thrust reflex has disappeared, so food is no longer automatically pushed out with the tongue.
Your baby has hand-eye-mouth coordination: they reach for food and deliberately bring it to their mouth.
